Meet Wamani Alex
Alex comes from a family facing extreme poverty. Both of his parents are alive, but as peasant farmers, they struggle to provide even the most basic needs for their children. The family has often moved from one place to another in search of survival, leaving Alex and his siblings without a stable and secure environment to grow up in.
Because of these hardships, Alex was exposed to domestic violence and child labor at a young age. Instead of focusing fully on his education and enjoying his childhood, he faced uncertainty and instability.
During a community outreach conducted by Love Uganda Foundation in Masajja, Wakiso District, Alex’s father learned about the organization’s work in empowering vulnerable children. With hope for a better future for his sons, he sought help, and that is how Alex and his brother found safety and support.
Today, Alex is in school and slowly rebuilding his confidence. In a safe and nurturing environment, he is able to learn, play, and dream again. With the right support, he has the potential to grow into a responsible and successful young man.
